How surrogacy exploits women and commodifies children @ Davenport Hotel

THE Government is aiming to soon publish its plans for the regulation of surrogacy and the Assisted Human Reproduction sector generally. The regulations promise to be extremely permissive.

This is why we have invited Jennifer Lahl (pictured above) of the Center for Bioethics and Culture in California to be our next speaker.

Jennifer is a campaigner against surrogacy. She argues that it is inherently exploitative of women and commodifies children by effectively turning them into products to be ordered.

The Center for Bioethics and Culture has been described by Dr William Hurlbut of Stanford University as “the most constructive and effective organisation in the arena of bioethics”.

Jennifer herself has 25 years of experience as a speaker, advocate, writer, film-maker and pediatric care nurse.

She has addressed members of the US Congress on harmful reproductive technologies, spoken to members of the European Parliament on human egg trafficking and written for numerous newspapers and peer-reviewed journals.
